The Festival Foundation is offering a generous bursary to talented local musicians who need some financial help to achieve their ambitions. Shortlisted musicians will perform in front of the judges as part of Canterbury Festival on 24 October in Shirley Hall.

Art and Science workshops (leading to the Opening Day - 15 October 2011)

In September and early October local primary and secondary schools will be working with young scientists from the University of Kent to explore "Sustainability, Recycling and the Environment", the big themes for our Carnival Parade.  Animate Artists will visit schools to make fantastic, colourful art for the parade bringing the big ideas to life and making wonderful things from junk!
