Canterbury Festival is delighted to
acknowledge the success of Canterbury Christ Church University
Events Management graduate, Angel Mudure.
Angel has been awarded the Canterbury Festival Events Management
prize for making a significant contribution to the Festival during
his degree programme. This is in recognition of his valued
support at Festival events and assistance behind the scenes
throughout the year.
Festival Business Manager, Kerry Barber, says "we were delighted
to be invited by our Partner and principal sponsor - Canterbury
Christ Church University - to consider supporting a student
prize. It provides an opportunity to recognise Angel's
loyalty and commitment over the past three years."
"Having recently completed a short internship with the Festival,
it's the perfect way to celebrate Angel's academic and personal
achievements".
Events Management Programme Director, Jane Lovell says
"Volunteering at a variety of events provides valuable experience
for Events Management students. Angel's work for Canterbury
Festival, conducted alongside his studies, demonstrates
organisational skills, commitment and initiative. The prize is
well-deserved and an association with such an iconic event will
help him succeed in what I'm sure will be a bright future."
Every year Canterbury Festival recruits a group of student
volunteers to help with a variety of events, including the Fringe,
the Festival's naughty offspring. Volunteering experience with a
non profit organisation like the Festival can also lead to
employment as was the case for Nikki Parsons, also an Events
Management graduate of Canterbury Christ Church University. After
dedicating her time two years running in October she was appointed
Marketing Assistant for 2011.
