CANTERBURY FESTIVAL - MARKETING MANAGER

The Canterbury Festival, Kent’s International Arts Festival, is an annual multi arts event showcasing the best in local, national and international performance. While the Festival takes place over 2 – 3 weeks in late October, the team is employed year-round in community arts activity, building audiences and developing partnerships to promote the arts in Kent.
The Festival promotes approx. 250 events annually selling £300,000 of tickets. It aims to engage with upwards of 65,000 people through free and ticketed events. The marketing budget is approximately £60,000.
We are seeking an experienced marketing manager to run and further develop the Festival’s marketing, sales and communication functions. Responsibilities include design, copywriting of print materials, website/digital development, online/social media and e-marketing, budgeting and achieving box office and advertising income targets. The role involves contributing to strategy and delivery of events nightly during the Festival, and on occasional evenings and weekends throughout the year.
Applicants must have previous marketing experience in an arts, charitable, or related environment. Knowledge of the arts is desirable. They must possess a keen eye for detail, basic design skills; excellent copywriting, oral communication and the ability to present in public, managerial, budgetary and networking skills. Accuracy and organisational ability are of paramount importance, and experience of box office systems highly desirable.
The ideal start date is mid-February 2018.
