The Philharmonia Orchestra
The Canterbury Festival is now part of The Philharmonia Orchestra
Canterbury Festival has teamed up with the Philharmonia Orchestra to become their Community Ambassador. Which means together we will be reaching out to a diverse community and individuals who would not be regular audience members to similar events. Offering complimentary tickets to the Orchestra’s concerts as well as meeting the musicians and access to future performances.
The Philharmonia Orchestra is set to create thrilling performances in The Marlowe Theatre, the aim is to reach new listeners and participants through development projects, digital technology and a learning and participation programme. Winning four Royal Philharmonic Society awards for their digital projects and audience engagement work, the Orchestra have been an international success. Their international touring schedule is landing in Canterbury in October all the way until June to engage with a new and diverse audience.
Seeing the Philharmonia concert live is an informal event with a very personal experience. With a free ticket to the concert at The Marlowe Theatre, you will be welcomed by your Community Ambassador Charlotte Chapman on the night. There will be a chance to meet musicians from the Orchestra and to discuss their community projects, access to future tickets and where to find local arts news.
The overall aim is to reach and involve a diverse audience and provide the opportunity to attend events with individuals that aren’t regular audience members to live music. Brining support and activities to the local community, The Canterbury Festival is excited to be on board with this project.
