In 2015, Champagne Taittinger acquired a slice of farmland in Chilham, Kent, and announced the launch of Domaine Evremond. Now Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger, President of Champagne Taittinger, has made English Sparkling Wine history by planting his first vines in the new Domaine Evremond vineyard – the first Grande Marque Champagne House to plant vines in the UK.

He discusses the history of his family’s Champagne house, their affection for Kent, and why the combination of chalk soil, climate and topography here is ideal for producing quality sparkling wine.
