In addition to a fascinating talk, audience members will be given the opportunity to enjoy a private view of the latest auction sale lots (a veritable treasure trove of items) while enjoying complimentary wine and nibbles.

Developing and Sustaining Turner Contemporary

Under the leadership of Director Victoria Pomery OBE Turner Contemporary has become one of Kent’s most successful visitor attractions. Since opening in 2011 the gallery has had a catalytic effect on social and cultural regeneration in Kent, and has established an international reputation - reflected in its recent announcement as the host venue for the 2019 Turner Prize, one of the best known prizes for the visual arts in the world.

Please join us for a special evening with Victoria Pomery as she shares her experience of developing Turner Contemporary from the blueprints into the success it is today. Victoria will also talk about Turner Contemporary’s plans looking forward and how she is working with her team to ensure the gallery continues to thrive for future generations.

Victoria Pomery was awarded an OBE in 2012 for services to the Arts, an Honorary Degree from UCA in 2013 and is a KCC Kent Ambassador.
